January 30: Free offers-and-needs networking!

Join the Liberatory Livelihood Association (LLA) for a free, online, offers-and-needs networking event! This livelihood-focused event will be a 90-minute guided process where you’ll meet other people to identify and exchange services, knowledge, skills, opportunities, resources, and needs. This event is our contribution to the "Reclaim the Economy Week" series of worldwide events being held from January 26 - February 2, 2026.

This event is free to attend but we do request that registrants who have financial means make a contribution to support the work of the LLA, HERE. Contributions of all sizes are welcomed with gratitude.

How our offers-and-needs event works

No preparation to attend is needed. You will have time during the event to think about what you wish to share.

1. Each participant briefly shares up to three livelihood-related offers (free or paid; knowledge, services, skills, opportunities, resources, etc.) with other event participants.

2. Participants will have the chance to express interest and/or ask clarifying questions about the offers just shared.

3. Each participant will then briefly share up to three livelihood-related needs (such as professional services, mentors, or other kinds of support) with other event participants.

4. Participants can then express interest and/or ask clarifying questions about the needs.

Because our event is short (90 minutes goes by surprisingly fast!), we will give all participants the opportunity to share contact information so that they can connect with each other for deeper conversation after the event ends.

Our event will be facilitated by Chris Musei-Sequeira. This event will be private and open only to registrants. It will not be recorded but the LLA will collate contact information and links to share with event participants only.

Our event is an adaptation of the Offers and Needs Market (OANM), which was created in 2011 by Donnie Maclurcan of the Post Growth Institute (learn more about it here). OANM emerged in response to the detrimental effects of global capitalism Maclurcan observed, from ruthless online marketplaces destroying family businesses to heartless mega-corporations, to the exploitation of individual humans, communities and the environment. OANM is a facilitated format for peer-to-peer exchange, trade and support.
